Thank you!!! What a gift to so many parents who wonder about their children, who worry as they find a piece here and there, before the picture is clear enough to see, before they're ready to see it. Thank you. Best to you and your family.

He guys just a matter of time before Harry Potter is on the heros part of the website Jake and me r great friends and if i know anything about this kid besides that he is autistic or aspie whatever you wanna call it and Jake is a awesome friend if i didnt have him i might always be inside playing video games but since he is so niceabnd a great friend me and him ride bikes around all the time (except for when we record for youtube) Once a when we were outside i climbed a tree and it fell down i jumped off intime and was ok and jake was fine to...to be honest i would rather get hurt then seeing a family member or friend get hurt.

Thank you so much for sharing this is very informative. I am a program Supervisor at a child development center and many times we get children that have not been seen by anyone or diagnosed but we know that there is a problem so begins are goal to get services as soon as possible the problem being.....the hardest part of my job telling parents we think something is wrong with their most prize possession. Of course we don't say it like that we tread very lightly by trying to get the parent to see that maybe their child should be assessed. But this information help me to help the teachers and staff to help the child. So agin thank you so much for sharing.

Hi Jake, You are such a lucky kid to be diagnosed with aspergers young and have your mom's full support. I am an Aspie myself but never got diagnosed till i was 22. That caused me a torrid childhood because my parents and school teachers would always consider me inferior due to things like dreaming in class, not paying attention during class etc when in fact this is all part of being an Aspie. One word of advice i can give you is to learn to connect with NT's, do not resent people when they dislike you. Instead, step back and ask yourself what you have done different from others and you will be on your way. Also, the one obsession you have, be it computers or cars (thats my obsession)should be pursued because you will one day become the best there is at a particular field that you are passionate in! I own a performance car tuner which is young compared to other owners.

This is a great blog! Your activeness in structured everyday things is amazing...karate, golf, fundraiser. ...and travel!! I have a cousin with this and only saw him in his early teens for the 2 yrs I lived in Calgary, Alberta. I now feel sad for the lack of involvement and support of the family and relatives, only to keep him in the house and scold for his irrational moments, twitching and rocking. That was 20 yrs ago. Thank god there is now support networks out there...this blog proves of its success in helping this kind of trait.

Wow Jake! I'm very impressed and so proud of you. Your mom deserves a lot of credit as well. I remember what a whiz your step-dad was with Legos and I'm glad I saved his. There isn't enough room to say all I'd like to. Most people would not like to be special or talk about it. You are one in a million! Love, Gramma in my heart, Jill

I enjoyed your diary Jake. A best friend of mine has a son with Asperger's and this has given me such insight into him. I plan to recommend your website to others in order that more can become educated on what Asperger's is. You have done an excellent job! A+++++ I'm honored to be your FB and FV friend.

Dear Jake: Your new website is awesome! Papa and I are very impressed. We love you a lot, and we are looking for a cool birthday present for your upcoming birthday. Sorry you only found one egg at the Easter egg hunt. Life doesn't always go our way, does it? But most of the time life does go our way. How lucky we all are. Love, Nana-Nini and Papa

Hi Jake! This is your friend Jeremy speaking. I like your site, I can't wait to meet you soon. When we get together, I have lots of questions. Guess what, I can't ride a bike without training wheel either. My Aspergers makes me rock back and forth.
